Privacy

We store the birthdays you ask us to remember, the words you write on cards, and enough about you to send the reminders and take payment. We don't sell anything to anyone, and we don't email you about anything except your own cards.

Your email address, the name you give us, and — only if you choose to have cards posted to you to send on — your postal address. If you save a card for payment we store a Stripe reference to it plus the brand and last four digits. We never see or store your card number.

This is the part worth reading twice, because it's information about someone who isn't you. For each person you add we store their name, your relationship to them, their birthday, anything you write in “what are they into?”, and their postal address if you give us one. We use it for exactly two things: knowing when to remind you, and putting a card in the post. We never contact them, and they never hear from us. Only ever add someone whose details you're comfortable holding.

The card design you chose and the message you wrote, kept as the record of what was printed, along with the order and its price. Card artwork and previews are stored so you can see what you sent.

Three companies, each doing one job: Supabase hosts the database and sign-ins, Resend sends and receives the emails, and Stripehandles payments and holds card details. Your recipient's name and address go to our print partner Prodigi so they can print and post the card. Nobody else, and no advertisers.

There is no password. We email you a link that signs you in, which means your email account is the key to your Hip Hip account — worth keeping that secure. Replies you send are checked to confirm they genuinely came from your address before we act on them.

Recipients and their details stay until you delete them or close your account. Records of cards actually printed and posted are kept as a record of a real transaction. Delete your account in Settings and everything else goes with it.

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Most of it you can see and change yourself in the dashboard. Email cards@hiphip.ukand we'll sort the rest. If you think we've got it wrong you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

A cookie to keep you signed in, and a first-party one that remembers you visited so we can tell how many people who try the demo go on to sign up. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
